Forrester Park Golf & Country Club is located in the village of Great Totham, just north of Maldon. River, Canal & Sea Trips

Spend a leisurely day or weekend aboard a river cruise or canal trip, and take in the miles of beautiful Essex countryside as you glide along the River Blackwater. There are various river cruises and canal trips available offering a variety of excursions, including hourly trips, day cruises and weekend ventures, or perhaps join one of the many specialist trips, including seal-watching, fishing or wildlife spotting.

They offer various daily canal cruises along the Chelmer and Blackwater Navigation Canal. The Victoria Barge cruises last for a minimum of 2 hours and are fully catered and trips are also available on the Caffel River Boat, lasting about 1 hour. Rowing boats and canoes are also available for hire.

Provide two types of canal cruises aboard the elver. One hour cruises are available daily, as well as a 2 hour 'sunset' cruise travelling down the canal to Beeleigh Weir, where the boat is moored to watch the sunset. Rowing boats are also available for hire.

Maldon is a tidal town at the top of the River Blackwater and is home to many of the remaining barge fleet. Our popular day hire includes a 2 hour sail, taking you down past the bird sanctuary of Northey Island to the privately owned Osea Island, before heading back to the Quay, where the barge remains at your disposal.

Viking Saga

Viking Saga was built in 1947 and following a complete restoration, she is available for cruises from Maldon and neighbouring ports. Most public trips are 40 minute excursions from Maldon Promenade, out past Heybridge towards Osea Island then back in the opposite direction past the Hythe Quay.
